Suburban Entanglement

Pencil and graphite alcohol wash
I record the subjects that I 'discover' in the environment: the abandoned jail, a feral cat, a homeless encampment, a roll of fencing, a broken window. Narratives emerge: What does the spider think as it 'discovers' this human 'web' of fencing? By creating works that are 'super real' through layering and/or metaphor, I try to develop compositions that will provoke the audience to engage with the works and 'discover' as well.
