Cedell Davis

pen and ink
9" x 17"

This is a pen and ink drawing of legendary hill country blues guitarist Cedell Davis. Stricken with typhoid fever malaria and polio as a child, left his hands and fingers drawn and twisted forcing him to play guitar using a butter knife for a slide.

My work is primarily in pen and ink. I enjoy creating highlights and deep shadow with the presence and absence of absolute black.
