"Lifeline" was inspired by a silent moment at the hospital. My husband was once again in the ER, suffering debilitating pain. It's happened several times over the years, but every single time, my mind is flooded with worries and questions about his health, our life together, and our children's futures. Once he was out of pain and dozing, I looked down at our hands clasped together, and it was as if I was seeing them with tunnel vision.
Nothing else in the world existed but these two hands holding onto each other, for comfort, for survival.
