Quarantine Self Portrait

I am a New York based artist specializing in large format, hyperrealistic urban landscape drawings. While my work is extremely detailed, my goal is to create an atmosphere for the viewer.
My current work has grown out of the diversity of my own experience. Having lived near wilderness, in rural, suburban, and urban areas I clearly see the struggle to find a sense of belonging in the city. I want to challenge the ideas of urban life being simply glamorous or decrepit and show the everyday, slow failings we constantly live with.
The current global pandemic and demand for racial justice have shifted my focus back to examining the figure and what it means to be living through this precarious time in history.
